We were allowed to deliver the new pulse valves from Mac Valves to Delica AG (Chocolat Frey AG) for cleaning the dust filters. These valves consume less compressed air and are therefore much more environmentally friendly than conventional diaphragm valves. CREDIMEX AIR AG is currently conquering the market with the new “MAC pulse valve technology”, wherever there is dust.
The raw materials for the production of chocolate, sugar, flour or milk powder cause dust during processing, which is collected by dust filter systems. Until now, the filter bags and cartridges were cleaned using membrane valves. Mac Valves new spool valve design brings many benefits. The air consumption can in some cases be significantly reduced and the CO2 emissions and maintenance costs are significantly reduced. “For us, it’s an optimal solution,” says Marc Iseli, the responsible technical manager at Delica AG in Buchs. These newly designed valves are also used in other industries such as wood and metal processing, cement production, feed mills and large bakeries.

CO2 emissions reduced
The sliders of the “MAC pulse valves” open and close very quickly. These strong impulses create a strong blast of air, which cleans the filters better and more efficiently. As a result, fewer pressure surges are required and consequently less air. Compressed air is expensive to produce and requires a lot of energy. Measurements on systems after a conversion have shown that the new technology uses up to 65% less compressed air compared to conventional valves. This not only reduces CO2 emissions, the costs for producing compressed air are also significantly lower.
Longer lifetime
Another advantage is the longer service life of the new pulse valves. These sliding piston valves have a service life that is around 10 times longer, they are self-cleaning and require very little maintenance. Depending on the area of application, the rubber membranes of conventional valves become brittle due to aging and develop small cracks through which “precious” compressed air escapes undetected. These leaks result in increased air consumption. The efficiency of the cleaning also decreases continuously as a result.
Lower costs
In addition, costs can be saved, also because the filters are less stressed by the more efficient cleaning impulses and thus achieve a longer service life. “These are decisive arguments that are convincing more and more customers,” says Martin Rüegg, the technical consultant for Mac Valves valves at CREDIMEX AIR AG. CREDIMEX AIR AG is the official distributor in Switzerland and Liechtenstein for all MAC VALVES products. Credimex AIR AG is based in Alpnach, Canton Obwalden and is known as a partner in the Swiss automation, machine and apparatus industry.
